University of Leeds
27 June – 1 July 2012
THIS PSi CONFERENCE is an initiative of the School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the University of Leeds, UK, in partnership with sister schools in the Faculty of Performance, Visual Arts and Communications, and Workshop Theatre in the Faculty of Arts. In association with partner arts organizations in Leeds and beyond, we are working to provide a programme of international and regional performance to coincide with the conference, open both to delegates and to the denizens of Leeds.
LEEDS is a multi-cultural city of around 800,000 people in the North of England, with excellent connections by air and rail. It first built its wealth through wool, which remained an important element in its rapid economic development in the Industrial Revolution. Most recently, it has become the UK’s second-largest centre for financial, business and legal services. The City and its region enjoy a rich cultural offer, including the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the recently-opened Hepworth Gallery (Wakefield), and Leeds Art Gallery. Restaurants, bars and hotels are many and range well in price. Budget accommodation is available through the conference; and registration fees will be banded according to income.
THE UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS is a member of the research-intensive Russell Group of UK Universities and a member of the World Universities Network (WUN). It has approximately 31,000 students.
